YouTalk
Effective public speaking and communication are some of the most important skills anyone can have, yet, the fear of public speaking is the most common phobia in America, affecting roughly 70% of the adult population. YouTalk provides the opportunity for young adults to 1) cultivate their public speaking skills and 2) share information and ideas they feel passionate about. Inspired by TedTalk, members can either sign up to give a presentation or participate in the audience. The presenter gets to choose the topic they would like to speak about. A typical meeting would be about 30 minutes, with a 10 to 15 minute presentation, a short Q & A afterwards, and a brief announcement about the next meeting.
