STAND is a student-led human rights collaborative that publishes a news and arts magazine to encourage and amplify the voices of young people on issues in our community and the wider world. Combining artistic and analytic expression, STAND celebrates identity and diversity, confronts bias and discrimination, and converts creative energy into material change. STAND champions the dismantling of systemic injustice through communication and outreach. The magazine invites submissions from those in the Staples and Westport communities. We accept short stories, poetry, essays, reviews/commentary, interviews, drawings, paintings, graphic design and multimedia. Students are welcome to submit pieces they feel are relevant to the ongoing conversation of justice and equity, including work originally produced for class. Those interested in joining our cause may submit the Google Form or email the student representatives and club advisor Ms. Lin.
