Staples Model UN

Staples Model UN meets weekly on Thursday afternoons at 2:50pm in room 1054. The purpose of the club is for students to research and experience the debates and situations that happen in the United Nations and gain greater knowledge of global politics.

We hope to attend at least one Model UN conference in the NY/Boston area, including Yale MUN, each year. At conferences, students participate in committees that address a variety of issues by playing the role of an assigned country. They will research their country's policies, perspectives, and relations, then debate solutions for their designated topic. Example topics include combating climate change or managing the Great Recession. Through MUN, students will improve their skills in public speaking, research, and collaboration.
