Love to the Children of Ethiopia Club
This club was proposed by a Staples student from Korah, Ethiopia, who recently gained her United States citizenship, who wants to help children in Korah. Korah is an impoverished urban area, with an estimated 130000 people in the city of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The club will partner with Wilton-based Hope for the Orphans of Ethiopia. HOE Ministries is registered 501C3 Organization. Because of Covid-19, Korah, Ethiopia has been immensely affected economically. Parents were able to put food on the table because of jobs that required social interaction everyday such as selling food and clothes on the street, being taxi drivers, and such. They are now struggling to provide for their families because they started to have very little to no business because people are afraid to go out. In the spring, They will be fundraising to provide kids with everyday necessities such as clothes, shoes, and school supplies (backpack & books) they wouldn’t be able to afford otherwise. They will be doing this by doing bakesales, promoting our cause on social media, and starting a Go Fund Me page.
