The Whale and Dolphin Conservation visited Staples High School to teach Marine Biology students about whales, their anatomy, why they are important to us, and how we can protect them. The inflatable North Atlantic right whale is modeled after the real N.A. Right Whale, Delilah. She was 45 feet long, 10 feet high, and 15 feet wide. She died in 1992 due to a vessel strike, leaving behind an 8-month-old calf that miraculously survived to adulthood.

Students loved seeing the bones and baleen, and getting to spend time inside Delilah to learn about her internal anatomy and physiology.
