On October 22, forty-four Staples High School students attended Sports Business Day at MetLife Stadium, an immersive learning event hosted by the New York Jets. The program brought together over 1,000 students from across the region to explore the professional opportunities that exist off the field within the sports industry.

Throughout the day, students heard from Jets executives and professionals representing departments such as Finance, Marketing, and Community Relations, each sharing insight into the wide range of careers that make a professional sports organization run successfully. The event also included a behind-the-scenes tour of MetLife Stadium and a ticket to a future Jets game.

Staples students participate in this career-focused field experience each fall and spring, learning about leadership, teamwork, and the variety of business roles within a professional sports franchise. Teachers Mary Katherine Hocking and Brendan Giolitto accompanied the students, helping connect classroom learning in business and marketing to real-world applications.
