Normandy International Youth Leadership Summit

Audrey Bernstein, Natasha Johnson and Patricio Perez Elorza Arce will represent Staples High School at NIYLS 2018 in Le Havre, France. Mrs. Maria Zachery, Coordinator of World Languages for Westport Public Schools, will chaperone the delegates.


The Institution Saint Joseph is pleased invite Staples High School to the fifth edition of the NIYLS Normandy International Youth Leadership Summit’ which will be held from the 22nd to the 29th of September 2018 in Le Havre, France. Student delegates selected are both high performing and interested in world affairs. Throughout the week, the delegates will have the opportunity to meet other students coming from all over the world and exchange their ideas with them. Students will develop action plans to address an issue affecting their community and the world. Selected students will implement their action plan upon their return to their home country. The city of Le Havre will also be hosting a debate forum, called the Positive Economy Forum, concerning the theory of positive economy; each delegation will participate in the forum. In previous years, student participants came from Brazil, South Africa, Netherlands, Great Britain, Italy and the United States.
