The National Spanish Honor Society hosted "Grupo pequeño, gran cambio" or "Small group, big change" in the cafeteria from May 11th to May 15th during all three lunch waves. This "Penny wars-style fundraiser" benefited the organization "Room to read", which works to establish a sense of normalcy for school children after a country experiences a disaster, such as the earthquake in Nepal, and to close the gender gap in education around the world. The grade with the most points at the end of the week won bragging rights and will walk away knowing that their spare change made a big change in the world.
