The Chinese Language Program at Staples High School hosted a celebration of the Chinese Mid-Autumn/Moon Festival on an evening in mid October at Compo Beach.

Yang Laoshi (Ms. Lili Kessinger Yang) and Chen Laoshi (Ms. Hong Chen) taught their students poems and songs related to the Moon Festival in preparation for the festivities and students of Fray Lao Shi (Mr. Chris Fray) had students present cultural artistic projects in both Chinese and English during the event.

While students looked out at the full harvest moon, they ate both Western and Chinese food, including moon cakes made especially for the celebration. Several members of the local Chinese American community were instrumental in preparing food and helping to decorate the pavilion at the Moon Festival gathering.
