Staples Players as Featured on NBC News

  • Theater I: Acting Fundamentals
  • Theater II: Advanced Acting
  • Theater III: Acting Technique
  • Theater III: Directing

Theater classes teach student a variety of techniques that enable them to interpret a role and perform onstage. All stage productions are an outgrowth of Theater Department classes. Students in the program have the opportunity to participate in major productions, as well as Studio Theater Productions and the One Act Play Festival. Students not enrolled in theatre classes are not as well prepared to participate in such production; however they are invited to participate.

Yesterday, Staples High School seniors participated in "Invest in Yourself," a comprehensive, day-long program designed to help students build practical skills as they prepare for life after high school. Through a Financial Reality Fair and a series of health and wellness workshops, the program gave students hands-on experience with the kinds of decisions they will soon face as young adults.

A team of students from Staples High School’s Financial Decision Making course earned second place at the Connecticut State Finals of the National Personal Finance Challenge, held March 31 at Synchrony in Stamford. The Staples team, consisting of seniors Justin Halky, Ford Epstein, Patricio Garcia, and Kai Schwartz, advanced to the state finals through earlier rounds of competition, demonstrating strong knowledge of personal finance concepts along with collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Staples High School proudly celebrated two exceptional seniors at the Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS) 31st Annual High School Arts Banquet, held March 30 at the Aqua Turf Club. Representing the very best of Staples’ artistic community, Harry McLaughlin was recognized in Visual Arts, and Eva Slossberg was honored in Music & Theater.
