Independent Learning Experiences

An Overview of the Program

The Independent Learning Experience is a pathway for learners who want to accelerate their learning beyond the classroom setting. This pathway is available to students in grades 9-12 who exhibit a strong desire to work independently on an enriching project, coursework or independent study that is not otherwise offered at Staples High School. Through an Independent Learning Experience, students spend a semester or full year independently or collaboratively moving forward to bring that passion project to fruition, with the support of the Independent Learning Experiences teacher and a faculty mentor.
