Director of Guidance
Bill is a committed educator and leader on the pupil services team. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Colgate University, a Master’s of Education in Risk and Prevention and Certificate of Advanced Study in School Counseling from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and his educational administration certification from Sacred Heart University.
Bill started his professional career at Northfield Mount Hermon School, an independent boarding school in Massachusetts, as an admission and financial aid counselor, academic advisor, and dorm parent. Enjoying most his work in student development, he decided to pursue a master’s in counseling. Upon finishing in 2007, he came to Westport and served as a school counselor at Staples High School for ten years. In June 2017, Bill was named the Director of Guidance. Bill is a knowledgeable resource, compassionate support, and strong advocate for students, while leading a dedicated, talented counseling department. He is also active on several committees at Staples. Bill’s professional and research interests include promoting college and career readiness and students’ development of noncognitive factors such as resilience and emotional intelligence.
Outside of school, Bill cherishes spending time with his wife and two children and enjoys traveling, playing golf, and cheering on the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.
