The Staples High School PTA wishes to extend our most sincere congratulations to the Class of 2020 and their families! We recognize that the school closure has greatly impacted the learning and social needs of all students, but especially those of the graduating seniors.
As you may know, each year the SHS PTA helps celebrate the senior class by sponsoring the annual Graduation Celebration and several other events for seniors and their families. We are truly saddened that, unfortunately, we will not be able to hold these events this year.
In lieu of these events, the PTA is planning to provide each senior with a Class of 2020 keepsake gift to remember their time at Staples. Traditionally, the senior events run by the PTA are funded solely by contributions. The senior class fundraising never occurred this year because of the quick closure of the Westport public schools.
While the PTA can partially fund the senior gifts, we are now asking senior class families to please consider a donation of $40.00 per child (or more if you are able), towards this effort. We know that these are unprecedented times and are therefore making this an optional donation.
To further support our community, the graduation events team will purchase the senior class gifts from a local, small business which has been negatively impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Donations can only be made through our PayPal link below. Given the lead time needed to order the gifts, we are requesting all donations be made by May 13.
Thank you so much for your support! For any questions or concerns please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
